With the signing of Sam Authentic Latrell Sprewell Jersey Bradford on Tuesday, the Philadelphia Eagles set the bar for their 2016 season. This is a team that expects to be in the playoffs, and it should be judged accordingly. The alternative would have been simple. With a new head coach, Doug Pederson, and a burning need to scrub vestiges of the Chip Kelly era from the NovaCare Complex, the Eagles could very easily have approached 2016 as a rebuilding season. That would mean drafting a young quarterback to develop, and that would translate to lowered expectations. The Eagles went a disappointing 7-9 under Kelly last season. If the team decided to hit the reset button and retool to take a run in 2017 and beyond, that would have been a reasonable approach. But thats not the plan. Bringing Bradford back is not consistent with planning to take a step backward. It is a move a team makes if it expects to contend right away. That is consistent with what Pederson said at his introductory press conference.I think the nucleus of this football team is very good, Pederson said. It's structured very well. There's some talent here, and I do believe that you can put yourself in a position to not only win the [NFC] East but have a chance to get yourself into the postseason and then go deep into the postseason. Those are mere words, but the Eagles actions have been consistent with that message. With Howie Roseman back in control of contract talks, the Eagles gave contract extensions to young players Lane Johnson, Zach Ertz and Vinny Curry. They worked out new contracts with Brent Celek and Malcolm Jenkins, two veterans who have little use for long-term building projects.http://www.officialwarriorsteamstore.com/Authentic-Festus-Ezeli-Jersey But the Bradford deal is the cherry on top of this particular sundae. Signing the 28-year-old to a two-year contract sends the message that 2016 is about winning -- not setting a foundation for the future. That doesnt just influence public opinion or media coverage. It sets a tone for the rest of the offseason. The best chance for Bradford to succeed comes if the Eagles fix their offensive line. That means left tackle Jason Peters likely will be back, despite his 34-year-old body and his $9.7 million salary-cap hit. It means the Eagles are more likely to look for a guard or two in free agency and add young offensive linemen through the draft. This also makes the Eagles more likely to add a veteran wide receiver in free agency. Bradford needs help right away. Someone who can play while youngsters Nelson Agholor and Josh Huff find their legs would make sense. If the Eagles were planning to sign someone such as Chase Daniel or spend a draft pick on a quarterback, they would be more likely to let the young players develop on the field.http://www.officialwarriorsteamstore.com/Authentic-David-Lee-Jersey Finally, there was already a fair amount of pressure on the Eagles defense, including new coordinator Jim Schwartz. The guess is Schwartz welcomes that pressure because he wants to win.
